She was daughter of John Martin Johnson and Ingeborg Marie Gerhardson. Elisabeth married Oscar Martin Johnson. He was born on June 1, 1892 in Tilden Township, Polk County, Fertile, MN. He died on August 15, 1954 in Bagely, Clearwater County, MN. They had 5 children:

1. James Maynard Johnson, b. Oct. 20, 1916, d. March 10, 1984, married Irene Rossell.
2. Violet Irene Johnson, b. March 25, 1920, d. Dec. 26, 1984, married Olaf Tveitbakk.
3. Lester O. Johnson, b. July 5, 1922, d. Sep. 14, 1993, married Dorothy E.
4. Maynard Johnson, b. May 4, 1925, d. Aug. 1, 1985, married Lorraine Mae Shelquist.
5. Elmer Johnson, b. Aug. 22, 1918, d. Jan. 4, 1998, married Aug. 22, 1946, Helen D. Hinman.
