Hans Sem Peterson (Grindheim) (1838 - 1933)

Hans Sem Peterson (or Hans Sem Petersen Grindheim as his name was in Norway) was born Oct. 11, 1838(# 126) on Grindheim farm, Moster, Bømlo, Hordaland County, Norway. He died on Aug. 25, 1933 in Norway Lake, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, USA. He was son of Peter Nilsen Grindheim and Wilhelmine Cathrine Sem. Hans Sem married Apr. 15, 1866(# 5), Anne Johannesdatter Totland in Moster church, Bømlo, Hordaland County, Norway. They had 13 children:

Hans Sem Petersen Grindem received an emigration attest from the church dated Mar. 29, 1856(# 41). In 1864 he returned to Norway.

1865 census "Hans Sem Pettersen" was living on Upper Grindheim farm, Moster, Bømlo, Hordaland County, Norway, together with his parents. Hans later married the housemaid Anna Johannesdatter on the same page. Hans Sem's grandmother was also living with them.

Hans S. P. Grindem emigrated together with his wife Anna Grindem and their daughter Petra Hansdatter Grindem on May 10, 1867 from Bergen, Norway and arrived in Quebec, Canada on June 18, 1867. They travelled with the ship
Norden. (See # 339-341)
