Mary Ellen (Griffiths) Thomsen (1851 - 1934)

Mary Ellen Griffiths was born 1851 in Tamworth, Warwickshire, England. She died 16 May 1934 in Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand. She was daughter of Robert Rhys Griffiths and Betsy Marriott. Mary Ellen married Hans Carl Thomsen in 1887 in New Zealand. They had 5 children:

2. Edith Eva Thomsen, b. Jan. 1890, Charleston, New Zealand.
3. Kari Thomsen, b. Oct. 1890, d. 1963, m. 1915, Alfred David Bradford.
4. Annie Elizabeth Thomsen, b. 1892, d. 1959, m. 17 Oct. 1919, William Forfar Wallis.
5. Robert Jorgen Thomsen, b. July 1893, Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand.

According to Missen website she was born in 1851:

"In 1861 she was living in Wilnecote, Warwickshire, England.

In 1871 she worked as a servant in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.

She emigrated to New Zealand in 1879".

Mary Ellen was buried 18 May 1934. Cemetery: Archer Street, Q E Park. According to this site she was 72 years old when she died and born abt. 1862 ?? . 1)
