Russell Allen Johnson

Russell Allen Johnson was born Nov. 16, 1925. He passed away on Monday, July 31, 2006 at his home in Dallas, Oregon. He was son of Oscar Alfred Johnson and Ethel Leona Merwin. He married (1) Shirley Schimming. Russell married (2) Cathrine M. Waldschmidt, b. Private.

Children of Russell A. Johnson and Shirley Schimming:

1. Cheryl Johnson, b. Private. married Scott Wardell.
2. Michael Johnson, b. Private. married Rhonda.

Russell Allen Johnson
Nov. 16, 1925 - July 31, 2006

Russell Allen Johnson, 80, of Dallas died July 31 in Dallas.

He was born in Stoughton, Wis., to Oscar Johnson and Ethel Merwin Johnson.

When he was young he had worked on a farm, in a bakery, and as a carpenter. He was a Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class attached to the Fleet Marine Forces, and also served as an U.S. Army Air Corps pharmacist 1st Class. He had various overseas assignments until retirement in 1965.

He was employed by the University of Wisconsin for 13 years and by CUNA International Insurance Company in Wisconsin. During retirement he moved to Oregon in 1985.
He was a Jehovah's Witness and helped in the construction of many Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls of Jehovah's.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; daughters, Cheryl and Brenda; sons, Michael, John and Timothy; brother, Don; sister, Esther Minnett; and six grandchildren.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dallas.
Contributions may be made to the Watch Tower Society in care of the Dallas Kingdom Hall.
