Arne Hansen (1892 - 1965)

Arne Hansen was born on 14 Nov. 1892(# 345) at Rikshospitalet in Kristiania (Oslo), Norway. He died on 3 Des. 1965 in Waukesha hospital, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA. He was son of Hans Jensen Bakken and Karoline Andreasdatter Liverud. Arne married Hansine Dorothy Hansen on 19 Feb. 1916 in Wisconsin, USA. They had 4 children:

1. Agnes Hansen, b. 20 Oct. 1916, d. 7 Nov. 2000, Mukwonago, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, m.1. Glade G. Wambold, m.2. Harold J. Krueger.
2. Arne Harry Hansen, b. 25 June 1918, d. 1 May 2000, m. Mildred J. Waisner.
3. Eunice Hansen, b. Sep. 1926, d. June 1983, m.1. Joseph Shave, m.2. 10 Nov. 1973, Robert Brandemuehl.
4. Beverly Hansen, b. ca. 1928, m. Robert Steckman. Living in New Berlin, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.

Arne was christened on 20 Nov. 1892(Nr. 345) at Rikshospitalet in Kristiania (Oslo).

In the census 1900 Arne was living on Liverud farm, Røyken, Buskerud County, Norway, together with his mother, uncle and grandmother.

In the census 1910 Arne is listened on the Liverud farm, Røyken, Buskerud County, Norway. He was then an able seaman.

Arne emigrated on
23 Apr. 1913 from Kristiania (Oslo), Norway to Hull in England on the ship S/S Eskimo. He probably travelled from Hull to Liverpool in England by train. He travelled from Liverpool on the ship S/S Laurentic and arrived at Quebec in Canada on 7 May 1913. He crossed the boarder from Canada at Vermont and he travelled from there by train to Port Huron in Michigan, Usa, were he arrived on 9 Mai 1913. His destination was Milwakee in Wisconsin.

On 15 Des. 1920 Passport Applications. Arne was then a sailor. Here his father is mentioned as Hans Hansen and he was dead. The reason for the passport application was that he was going to Norway on 23 Des. 1923 from New York on the ship S/S Oscar II to bring back his wife and children. (See under his wife).

I census 1920 "Erne" was living in Ward 23, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, together with his wife and their children Agnes and Harry.

I census 1930 "Arnds" was living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA together with his wife and their children Agnes, Harry, Eunice and Beverely. His wife's brother Klaus and his wife were also living with them.

I census 1940 Arne was living in Ward 8, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, together with his wife H Dorothy and their children Arne, Eunice and Beverly.
