Johannessen and Gjertrud
Monsdatter. Mons married (1) June 30, 1844, Kari Bottolfsdatter Birkeland
b. 1823 on bnr. 1. They had a son: 1. Anders Monsen, b. Jan. 29, 1845. Mons
married (2) June 24, 1846, his cousin Margreta
Trulsdatter b. 1828 on Lille Sleire farm, bnr. 2. She was a daughter of Truls
Monsen and Anne Pedersdatter. They had 10 children: 1.
Kristian Monsen, b. Oct. 12, 1847, m. June 02, 1868, Emilie Karoline Smith.
2. Gjert Monsen, b. Oct. 27, 1850, d. Dec. 18, 1864. He drowned in the ice.
3. Truls Monsen, b. March 16, 1853. 4. Anders Monsen, b. Sep. 26, 1856, d.
Jan. 06, 1858. 5. Anna Monsdatter, b. May 30, 1859, d. Oct. 10, 1860.
