Truls
Trulsen was born ca. 1833 on Lille Sleire farm, Masfjorden in Hordaland
County, Norway. He died June 14, 1905
in Garfield, Jackson County, Wisconsin, USA. He was son of Truls
Monsen and Anne Pedersdatter. Truls married (1) July 07, 1862, Johanne
Jonsdatter Knarvik, b. April 25, 1824, d. Oct. 24, 1867 on St. Jørgens
hospital in Bergen (leprosy). They had one daughter:
1. Johanne Trulsdatter, b. Oct. 1863.
Truls married (2) June
23, 1868, Anne Clausdatter Kjellevold, b. Jan. 11, 1838. Daughter of
Claus Larsen and Marthe Iversdatter. Truls and Anne had 4 children:
1. Martin Trulsen, b.
Jan. 18, 1870.

Truls, Anne and their
son Martin emigrated from Bergen to Quebec in Canada with the Nordstjernen
in 1872. From there they went to Garfield, Jackson County in Wisconsin.
Truls was granted a Land Patent for 120 acres of land and farmed there.
Truls was buried in the cementery of the South Beef River Lutheran Church
in Garfield, WI, that he and his family attented. 1)
