Alvilde Marie Olsdatter (Melsby) (1850 - 1918)

Alvilde Marie Olsdatter was born 16 Sep. 1850(# 53) on Melsbø farm, Lødingen, Nordland County, Norway. She died 24 Apr. 1918 in Spring Valley, Pierce, Wisconsin, USA. She was daughter of Ole Andreas Amundsen and Martha Andersdatter. Alvilde Marie married Andrew Jacobson abt. 1872.

Alvilde Marie was christened on 29 Sep. 1850(# 53)
in Lødingen.

In the 1865 census Alvilde Marie was living on Melsbø farm in Lødingen together with her parents and siblings. (At that time the farm name was written as Mælsbø).

She emigrated to USA in 1866 together with her parents and siblings.
They departured from Trondheim on 5 May 1866 on the bark Neptunus. They arrived in Quebec Canada on 9 June 1866. Passenger list (see # 346 - 353). Her name was then listed as Alvilde Marie.

She used the name Alvilde Marie Melsby in USA. Later Alvilda Jacobson.

In the 1880 census she was living in Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with her husband Andrew Jacobson and their daughter Fany J Olson 4 years old, adopted ?. Andrew's occupation was farming. Alvilde's name was listed as Alvilda Jacobson.

In the 1900 census she was living in
Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with her husband Andrew Jakobson. Her name was listed as Alvilde Jakobson. Her marriage year was estimated to 1872 and her immigration year was 1866.

In the 1905 census she was living in
Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with her husband Andrew Jacobson. Her name was listed as Alvilde M Jacobson.

In the 1910 census she was living in Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with her husband Andrew Jacobson and their daughter Nettie F (she was adopted). Andrew's mothter was also living with them. Alvilde's name was listed as Alvilda Jacobson and her immigration year was 1866.
