Anne Margrethe Hansdatter (Anne Margrethe Jacobson) (1851 - )

Anne Margrethe Hansdatter was born 12 Apr. 1851(# 39) on the tenant place Moen on Lerstang farm, Eidanger, Telemark County, Norway. She was daughter of Hans Jacobsen and Maren Johanne Larsdatter. Anne Margrethe married Henry Ferdinand Huffy 24 Nov. 1875 in Gilman, Pierce, Wisconsin, USA. They had 7 children:

1. Edward T. Huffy, b. Feb. 1877, m. Ida Lundquist. A daughter Eva Elvira, b. 11 Sep. 1900.
2. Hilda Huffy, b. Apr. 1879,
3. Ch* Huffy, b. June 1881,
4. Luther Huffy, b. Feb. 1883,
5. Carl A. Huffy, b. July 1885, probably m. 12 May 1917, Ruth A. Newell.
6. Mabel I Huffy, b. Nov. 1888, probably m. 30 Aug. 1919, Paron A. Carson. 1920 census. A daughter Elaine Marie, b. 6 July 1928.
7. Louis Huffy, b. Feb. 1891,

All of the children are born in Wisconsin.

Anne Margrethe was christened 6 July 1851(# 39) in Eidanger church, Eidanger, Telemark County, Norway.

She emigrated to USA 1864 together with her parents and siblings and was living in Muskegon, Michigan, for one year, where her father died, and she came west with her mother and siblings to Pierce County, Wisconsin. She used the name Anne Margrethe Jacobson in USA.

In the
1880 census Anna Huffy was living in River Falls, Pierce, Wisconsin, USA together with her husband Henry Huffy and their children Edward and Hilda Huffy.

In the 1900 census Annie Huffey was living in Hudson city Ward 1-2, St. Croix, Wisconsin, USA together with her husband Henry Huffey and their children Edward, Hilda, Ch*, Luther, Carl, Mabel and Louis. She was mother to 7 children.
