Jeremias Hansen was born 20 Jan. 1859(# 14) on Sillevik farm, Brunlanes, Vestfold County, Norway. He was son of Hans Jacobsen and Maren Johanne Larsdatter.

Jeremias was christened 10 Apr. 1859(# 14) in Brunlanes, Vestfold County, Norway.

He emigrated to USA 1864 together with his parents and siblings and was living in Muskegon, Michigan, for one year, where his father died, and he came west with his mother and siblings to Pierce County, Wisconsin. He used the name Jerry Jacobson in USA.

In the 1870 census he was living in Wisconsin together with his mother and brother Andrew. His name was then listed as Jerry Jacobson.

In the 1880 census he was living Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with his mother Jerrimia (Jeremias). His name was then listed as Jerrimia Jacobson.

In the 1900 census he was living in Gilman, Pierce, WI, together with his sister Martha Smith and her husband Henry Smith and their daughter Hilda Smith. His mother was also living there. His name was then listed as Jerry Jakobson and his immigration year was 1865.
