from the church dated 28
Apr. 1860(# 44 on the right side).
He was then listed as Thomas Nilsen Stensrud. Thomas emigrated to
America together with his wife and their children Anne Cathrine
11, Maren 9, Nicoline 7, Nils 4 and Erik 2 years old. (Johan was
not mentioned in the church book).
In the
1880 census John was living in Gilman, Pierce, WI, together
with his wife Aaste Thompson and their children Tilla H, Alber M,
Thomas O, Maren H and Hans. His name was then listed as John Thompson.
In the 1910
census he was living in Lenroot, Sawyer, Wisconsin together with
his wife Aaste

Albert and John A. His name was listed as John Thompson and his
immigration year was 1860.
In the 1920
census he was living in Lenroot, Sawyer, Wisconsin together with
his wife Maria Thompson and their grandson Arthur Thompson (son
of Aaste Karine Thompson), their
son-in-law Holver Holden and his wife Tilley H. Holden, their grandson
Floyd A. Thompson and John Thompson's sibling's Nels Hangen (Nils
Haugen) and Mary Hangen (Maren Haugen). His name was then listed
as John Thompson and his immigration year was 1860.
He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.
