ANTON THORSON.

Colfax, Feb. 23: It is our sad duty
this time to chronicle the death of Anton
Thorson of Estevan, Canada,
which occurred at the home of his
brother, Albert Thorson of this place
on Sunday evening, February 15th.
The cause of death was Brights disease
from which he had suffered since
last June. He sought medical aid at
various places and was confined at
a hospital in Minneapolis since last
fall but all medical aid was of no avail
to the sufferer. He gradually grew
worse until three weeks~prior to his
death, he intended to leave for his
home in Canada but did not reach his
destination. He came to stay with
his brother and family.

Anton Thorson was born in this
township on May 20, 1871. His parents
were Anfin Thorson and Anna
Hanson. He was married to Miss
Marie Hanson. They made their home
in this community and at Belgrade until
eleven years ago when they left
for Estevan, Canada and settled on a
homestead where they have resided
since.

Eleven children were born to them,
of whom nine are left together with
their greif stricken mother to mourn
the death of a father and husband.
The children are Arthur, Delia, Theresa,
Miles, Coleman, Henrietta, Daisy,
Henry and Anton, the youngest being
only three months old. He also
leaves to mourn three brothers, Albert,
Carl and Thor and one sister,
Mrs. Gudmund Odland. All were
present at the funeral but his wife
and one son, Arthur. Mr. Thorson
made a host of friends wherever he
made his home and he was of such a
cheerful disposition. Funeral servwere
held last Friday from the home
at one o'clock p. m., and from the
church at two o'clock, Rev. T. O. Tolo
officiating. The pall bearers Were F.
M. Mickkelson, Carl Johnson, Hans
Hanson, Henry Larson, P. W. Anderson
and Thomas Thompson. We wish
to extend our heartfelt sympathy to
the bereaved family in this hour of
affliction.
