Britha Anfindsdatter Ådland (1807 - 1848)

Britha Anfindsdatter was born 1807 on Ådland farm, Stord, Hordaland County, Norway. She died Oct. 17, 1898(#10) on Hystad farm, Stord, Hordaland County, Norway. She was daughter of Anfind Ottesen Ådland and Kari Tørresdatter Bjelland. Britha married(1) Thor Nelsen Hystad on Jan. 13, 1827(#1) in Stord church. Thor and Brita had 3 children:

1. Nel Thorsen, b. Apr. 25. 1827(#35), died young.
2. Kari Thorsdatter, b. Jun. 12. 1828(#56), d. Dec. 14, 1900(#3), m(1), Oct. 14, 1846(#37), Søren Jacobsen Frugården, m(2) May 11, 1880(#6), Rasmus Sørensen Frugården.
3. Andfin "Anfin" Thorson, b. born Feb. 5, 1830(#19), d. Sep. 27, 1895, m. Nov. 25, 1855(#30), Anne Hansdatter Hystad.


Britha married(2) Jul. 7, 1840(#20), Mikkel Olsen Økland in Stord church. They had 3 children:

1. Thor Mikkelsen, b. Aug. 12, 1841(#91), d. 15 Feb. 1918, m(1). Dec. 25, 1865(#28), Fredrikke Johannesdatter, m.(2) 1871, Eli Knutson. Find A Grave.

Her first name was spelled Britte, Brita, Britha, Brithe etc.

Hysingstad is the same as Hystad farm.

Britha's christening was held on Mar. 4, 1807 in Stord church.

In the 1835 census Britha was living on Hysingstad (Hystad farm) together with her husband Thor and their children. They had 1 horse, 6 cow's, 10 sheep and 1 pig.

In the 1845 census Britha was living on Hystad farm together with her husband Mikkel Olsen and their children.

In the 1865 census Britha was living on Hystad farm together with her husband Mikkel Olsen and their children Ole and Synneve.

In the 1875 census Britha was living on Hystad farm together with her husband Mikkel Olsen.

Brita's burial was held on Oct. 24, 1898(#10) in Stord church.
