Lars Larsen
(1778 - 1840)

Lars Larsen was born 1778 on Rogn farm, Bamle, Telemark County, Norway. He died 7 Oct. 1840(# 13) on Blekebakken, Brevik, Telemark County, Norway. He was son of Lars Jacobsen and Johanne Gautesdatter. Lars married Aaste Hansdatter 30 Dec. 1806(# 30) in Bamle church, Bamle, Telemark County, Norway. They had at least 5 children:

1. Hans Larsen, b. 1807,
2. Jacob Larsen, b. 13 Mar. 1811,
3. Maren Johanne Larsdatter, b. 20 Nov. 1813, d. 10 Dec. 1911, m. 6 Sep. 1840(# 8), Hans Jacobsen.
4. Anne Mathia Larsdatter, b. 25 Oct. 1816(# 27),
5. Lorentz Petter Larsen, b. 14 Oct. 1820(# 16), d. 20 Dec. 1898(# 15), m. 21 Oct. 1847(# 7), Karen Gurine Larsdatter.

Lars was christened 11 Aug. 1778
in Bamle church, Bamle, Telemark County, Norway.

In the
1801 census he was living on Åby (Aabye) farm in Bamle together with his mother (Johanne Gouthesdtr) and his brother Søren Larsen and their sister Anne Bollethe Andersdatter. Lars was then an able seaman.

Lars was also a seaman when he was married. Later he worked as a carpenter, but when he died he was a able seaman again.

Lars was buried
14 Oct. 1840(# 13)
in Brevik church, Brevik, Telemark County, Norway.
