Peter Hansen Grindheim (1839 - 1909)

Peter Hansen Grindheim was born Apr. 7, 1839(# 31) on Grindheim farm, Moster, Bømlo, Hordaland County, Norway. He died 1909 in Minnesota, United States. He was son of Hans Petersen Ersland and Siri Nilsdatter Grindheim. Peter Hanson married Helga Halvorson on Apr. 6, 1899 in Kandiyohi, Minnesota, United States. They had no children.


Peter's christening was held Apr. 7, 1839(# 31) in the Old Moster Church.

In the 1865 census "Petter Hansen" was living on upper Grindheim farm together with his parents and his sister.

Peter emigrated to America together with his parents and sibling's. They departed from Bergen, Norway May 20, 1869 with the bark Lyna and arrived in Quebec, Canada June 13, 1869. Passenger List. See # 69-73.


In the 1880 census "Peter Peterson" was living in Norway Lake Township, Kandiyohi, Minnesota, United States together with his parents. Also a stepdaughter Anna was living with them.

In the 1885 census "Peter Peterson" was living in Norway Lake Township, Kandiyohi, Minnesota, United States together with his parents. Also a Hanna Serina Peterson was living with them.

PETER HANSON GRINDHEIM.

Peter Hanson Grindheim, for the past 15 years a resident of this city, died at his home in the Glarum addition Sunday morning, death being due to Bright's disease, with which he had been afflicted for some time. He had been ailing since last summer but it was only during the last week that he became seriously ill.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. M. B. Michaelson at the
residence and at the Lutheran Free
church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at the Free church cemetery.

Peter Hanson Grindheim was born in Norway on April 7, 1839, and he was thus 70 years, 7 months and 28 days old at the time of death. When he came to this country he worked for a number of years as a farmer in Norway Lake,
atfer which he moved to Willmar where he busied himself with truck gardening. Ten years ago, at the age of 60, he married Miss Helga Halvorson. and they made their home on their residence property

 

 

 

between the Glarum and the Spicer
additions until a couple of weeks
ago when they sold the property to
John Johnson of Gracevilie and
moved into their new residence in
the Glarum addition. Aside from
the residence the deceased owned
one and a half block of land in the
Glarum addition. The deceased is
survived bv his wife and two sisters,
one at Crow River and one in
