Siri (Nilsdatter) Peterson (1810 - Aft. 1885)

Siri Nilsdatter was born 1810 on upper Grindheim farm, Moster, Bømlo, Hordaland County, Norway. She was daughter of Nils Pettersen Grindheim and Anna Baardsdatter Løklingholm. Siri married Hans Petersen Ersland on Jan. 5, 1839 probably in the Old Moster Church. They had 3 known children.

1. Petter Hansen, b. Apr. 7, 1839(# 31), to America, m. Apr. 6, 1899 Helga Halvorson.
2. Anna Hansdatter, b. July 9, 1844(# 100), To America, m. 1873, Tosten Borden.
3. Cathrine Hansdatter, b. Aug. 5, 1851(# 140), d. 1924, m Feb. 7, 1874, Lars Olson.



Siri's christening was held Sep. 29, 1810 in the Old Moster Church.


In the 1865 census Siri Nielsdatter was living on upper Grindheim farm together with her husband and their children Petter and Katharine.


"Sigrid" emigrated to America together with her husband and their children. They departed from Bergen, Norway May 20, 1869 with the bark Lyna and arrived in Quebec, Canada June 13, 1869. Passenger List. See # 69-73.

In the 1880 census "Siri Peterson" was living in Norway Lake Township, Kandiyohi, Minnesota, United States together with her husband and their son Peter. Also a stepdaughter Anna was living with them.

In the 1885 census "Seri N. Peterson" was living in Norway Lake Township, Kandiyohi, Minnesota, United States together with her husband and their son Peter. Also a Hanna Serina Peterson was living with them.
